In approaching an IFA, 30 per cent said that they would not be sure what to do, while 28 per cent would seek confirmation from another client and 25 per cent would seek confirmation from the regulator. Also, 25 per cent of those contacted would seek confirmation of qualifications from the relevant awarding body in the financial advice arena.
The questions allowed participants to choose a combination of responses.
